President of the Republic of Liberia
Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr.
President of the Republic of Liberia
President Boakai leads Liberia under his administration's ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development — a national development framework focused on Agriculture, Road, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism. Since taking office, he has prioritized accountability and fiscal discipline, including cutting his own salary by 40% and initiating audits of major national institutions. Under his leadership, Liberia was elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026–2027 term, marking a significant milestone in the country's international re-engagement.
A Baptist deacon and lifelong advocate for rural development, President Boakai has deep roots in grassroots community building, having personally financed road construction and school projects in his home county of Lofa. He is married to Katumu Boakai and they have four children. His presidency represents a renewed commitment to transparent governance, inclusive growth, and a better Liberia for all its citizens.

Government Priorities
The A.R.R.E.S.T. (Agriculture, Road Agenda, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, Tourism) Agenda.
Agriculture
Agriculture is the foundation of Liberia's economy and the primary source of livelihood for the majority of its people. The Boakai administration is committed to modernizing the agricultural sector, boosting food production, and reducing Liberia's dependence on food imports to achieve lasting food security.
Road Quality
Roads are the arteries of national development, connecting communities, markets, and opportunities across Liberia's fifteen counties. The administration is investing heavily in the construction and rehabilitation of road infrastructure to stimulate economic activity and ensure that no community is left behind.
Rule of Law
A just and accountable society is the bedrock of sustainable development and public trust in government. The Boakai administration is strengthening Liberia's judicial institutions, enforcing anti-corruption laws, and ensuring that every Liberian — regardless of status — is equal before the law.
Education
Education is the most powerful investment a nation can make in its future, and the Boakai administration is determined to deliver quality learning for every Liberian child. Through curriculum reform, teacher training, and expanded access to schools, the government is working to eliminate learning poverty and build a generation of skilled, empowered citizens.
Sanitation
Clean communities are healthy communities, and the government is prioritizing sanitation infrastructure to improve the quality of life for all Liberians. From waste management systems to clean water access, the administration is working to create safer, healthier living environments in both urban and rural areas across the country.
Tourism
Liberia is a nation of extraordinary natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture waiting to be shared with the world. The Boakai administration is investing in the development of Liberia's tourism sector as a driver of economic diversification, job creation, and national pride.
